Phodiso Matloga– Assistant Producer

Born and bred in Mohlakeng, a township in the West of Gauteng Province. Phodiso is a professionally trained Office Administrator, Arts Administrator and Stage Technician. She became involved in the arts through the African Orthodox Church Youth Club at an early age and ended up affiliating with Togetherness Youth Club (T.Y.C); which then introduced her to arts administration.Through T.Y.C, she was introduced to National Community Theatre for Education & Development Network (NACTED Network) and served as NACTED Gauteng committee member.

In 2000 she was appointed by NACTED Nework’s national office as National Coordinator and in 2007 she joined Southern African Theatre Initiative (S.A.T.I) as Project Officer. Between 2009 and 2012 she worked at Randfontein Local Municipality as Special Project’s Coordinator and during that period she also served as a council member of Gauteng Sports, Recreation, Art and Culture (GACC) administrating the Grant in Aid Fund of Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation. In 2010 she coordinated Zwakala Festival and the Annual Community Theatre Festival of Market Laboratory under the banner of Market Theatre Foundation. In 2012 she joined ASSITEJ SA as Assistant Project Coordinator in their Theatre4Youth Programme Amongst other things she does, she is actively involved in community projects such as Girl2Girl young girls and women to receive free sanitary pads that are distributed to variouis communities through arts organizations on the ground in order to reach relevant targeted beneficiaries when donations are received.

In 2014 she joined the Artscape Technical Training Academy to empower herself in Stage Tech and successfully completed her training. She then joined Artscape Theatre Centre since 2015, serving in various position such as Project Administrator, Assistant Project Manager and served them as the Resource Manager between 2016 and 2019. She recently joined the Market Theatre Foundation as Assistant Producer, assuming responsibilities of giving support to the Producer in programming projects, managing the theatre centre and mounting of productions & events in various venues of the centre. She is passionate about the arts and arts development. Her aspirations are having to further her studies Cultural Leadership, Data Management and Public Administration.
