    About the Role

    The coordinator: Long Courses facilitates the teaching and learning process by coordinating processes and people for successful realization of photography education outcomes of the Market Photo Workshop’s two long courses. The position contributes towards the development of curriculum documents, course outlines, courses scheduling, learning and teaching support material, monitoring implementation, and reviewing/evaluating courses to ensure best practice in servicing student photographers.

      Principle accountabilities:

    • Contribute to student recruitment processes and policies
    • Assist in identifying and contracting trainers (identifying skills and expertise relevant to the curriculum
    • Engage with photography course outlines and curriculum documents to ensure relevance to industry trends
    • Contribute to photography content development of curriculum and learning and teaching support materials
    • Support the Manager: Curriculum, Teaching and Learning by managing direct reports to  ensure effective and efficient delivery of courses
    • Participate in curriculum and course review and evaluation
    • Manage any course-related projects
    • Monitor and report on course assessment

    Desired Experience & 

    Qualification

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE 

    EDUCATION

    Diploma/degree in Photography, Visual Arts or equivalent

    EXPERIENCE

    Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience in learning and teaching environment

    Experience in Education and training NGOs or similar would be advantageous

    Photography experience, particularly studio photography

    KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

    • Leadership qualities
    • Good understanding of Photography in South Africa, Africa and Globally
    • Excellent computer skills, both MAC and Windows – high proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office suites
    • Photography experience, particularly studio photography
    • Ability to handle pressure
    • Communication skills (Verbal & Written)
    • Attention to detail
    • Committed to excellence in and relevance of photography education in South Africa
    • Passionate, Driven and Dynamic
