Purpose
To oversee the fundraising activities of the MTF and to act as the custodian and driving force behind fundraising efforts to bring in donations by establishing excellent relationships and raising awareness and ensuring the general public maintains a favorable image of the institution. Creating new and innovative plans for successful fundraising by being able to adapt and change strategies to meet the needs of the donor pools and keep the donations coming in.
- Develop an integrated fundraising strategy for the Foundation as well as individual ones for the business units
- Research individuals, corporations, and foundations to identify new fundraising opportunities and donors that may be interested in partnering with the MTF
- Effectively convey the organization’s mission, vision, and programs to potential donors
- Craft grant applications and fundraising proposals
- Strategize and successfully execute fundraising campaigns
- Manage a budget and track whether goals are being met
- Work closely with Marketing Manager to provide funder visibility in terms of grant agreements and to promote funder hospitality through invitations to MTF events
- Work closely with the CFO to monitor usage of grants
- Ensure that funders are added to the MTF’s databases and newsletters
- Promote awareness of the organization’s mission and work
- Cultivate a network of dedicated donors and volunteers
- Plan fundraising initiatives to help the organization meet financial goals
- Responsible for facilitating and coordinating engagements, partnerships and all processes relating to stakeholders
People management
- Lead the development and implementation of stakeholder management strategies for both local and international funders
- Promote open communication between and within departments
- Build and maintain honest working relationships through the provision of accurate and timely information

Desired Experience &
Qualification
Minimum:
Diploma in Business Administration, marketing or Humanities/Arts
Minimum:
- Proven track record of fundraising <R5 mil/annum
- Minimum 5 years
Minimum:
- English communication at a high level – both written & oral
- Fundraising & Donor communications
Ideal:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Humanities/Arts
Ideal:
- Recognised as a fundraiser in industry
- Minimum 10 years
Ideal:
- English Communication at a high level
- South African Fundraising Institute certificate
- Financial certificate beneficial
